What is the difference between goals, strategies, and tactics?
When given a task to complete, you are going to come up with a strategy to achieve your goal. The strategy is a vital step to ensure your goal is met. Within your strategy, you will come up with tactics. These are specific actions you will be completing inside your strategy to assist you in reaching your goal.
What is the importance of setting SMART goals when creating a marketing campaign?
So, what are SMART goals,
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Relevant
- Timely
When working on a marketing plan or any project, it is important to develop a goal and create a plan to reach that goal. SMART goals will help to make your plan easier to complete. Developing your company’s marketing projects around a SMART goal then you increases your chances of having a successful project. When working on a marketing campaign, you need to specify exactly what you want. Laying out your plan in SMART goal format will help ensure you have decent expectations that will avoid confusion. You will know exactly what you want, keep track of your progress, ensure you can achieve it, keep it related to the end goal, and complete it by your set deadline.
When preparing for your goal, consider.
- What is the goal of the campaign?
- What is the context of the campaign?
- What is the deadline for the campaign?
- Can the goals of the campaign be completed by the deadline?
Provide examples to portray how marketing tactics align with strategies in order to support set goals.
As we work to improve our marketing strategy, we will set a goal for next year. If we want our new product to increase online sales, we will have to reach a new demographic of the target audience. A possible strategy would be to start utilizing the king of online advertising, Google. While we already have some online marketing, we need to figure out how to grow upon that. Having a set plan to work for will help our chances of being successful.
How can you ensure that your SMART goals are met using key performance indicators (KPIs)? Explain using examples to support your rationale.
When running a marketing campaign, you want to make sure that the networks that you are using are reaching your goals. KPIs will keep track of all marketing channels and how well they are doing at reaching the target audience. If we start having ads appear on YouTube, we will be keeping track of how well the campaigns are doing and whether or not they are justified. Whether or not they are Measurable in part of the SMART goal.
